Info:

We’ve been eyeing Santiago’s coffees for a long time, a friend for the last few years through our work with our close friends over at Yellow Rooster Coffee Imports. In fact, Santi’s coffees have been a component of our Ace Blend for quite a few months now, beginning in the half of 2024.

While our work with him historically has been with very small lots of dry process (natural) coffees, we wanted to have a coffee with a little bit wider appeal this time around, so we opted for El Ocaso’s classic blend of the Castillo and Tabi varieties, which is what gives Ocaso its signature flavor.

Castillo is a variety we’re very familiar with here at Eastlick, given that it represents well over 70% of Colombia’s entire harvest. Tabi is another Colombian invention, an attempt at “improving” on the Castillo variety. While it didn’t take off as successfully as the Castillo, Tabi is a super tasty variety well worthy of interest of coffee fans.

Santi took the farm over from his father a few years ago, and quickly began using social media to drum up interest. He now is nearing 900,000 followers, and was voted as Colombia’s “Coffee Educator of the Year” last year.

We’re stoked to offer this short run of Santi’s coffees and hope you enjoy them as much as we do!
